controllers, increased memory
capacity and according to Salto, its
new built-in reader design makes
it suitable for indoor and outdoor
installation (IP56 Certified) and
clearly indicates if access is granted
or denied. Salto also showed its
Salto KS `Keys as a Service', which
provides a flexible access control
management system that requires
no software installation or the
added expense of a fully-wired
electronic product. All that is
needed is an online device with an
Internet connection.
Comelit
launched
the Maxi
Android
door entry
solution, featuring high-end
technology in a 7-inch tablet-style
panoramic monitor. Compatible
with Comelit's VIP system, it
features a capacitive touchscreen
and swipe functions. The monitor
is able to be loaded with 3rd party
Android Apps. Also on show was
the recently launched ultra-thin
Mini-series of door entry monitors
the new Mini VIP hands free
and Mini 2-wire models. The se-
ries features a 4.3-inch 16:9 colour
screen, contrast, colour and ring-
tone volume control and melody
customisation. The units also have
soft-touch buttons for lock release,
self-ignition, switchboard call and
privacy function management,
integrated hearing loops and full
duplex audio.

(ACM) system integration with
Virdi's biometric fingerprint
reader technology. According to
Avigilon, the integration of ACM
with Virdi's biometric authentica-
tion adds an additional form of
identification to high security
environments. This enhanced
level of verification is supported
by Virdi's patented Live and Fake
Fingerprint Detection Technology,
which uses human capacitance,
infrared light and advanced
algorithms, to deliver advanced
accuracy and speed at access
points. The Virdi USB fingerprint
reader can be connected to a client
machine for quick and easy enroll-
ment, while users can configure
and manage biometric identities
directly from Avigilon's ACM
software.
Aurora
unveiled its
Facesentinel LR, a
long range sensor that
extends Aurora's near
infrared capabili-
ties to a wider range of distances,
making it suitable for applications
such as queue management, sur-
veillance, and VIP identification.
Facesentinel LR uses high speed
global shutter technology and a
high brightness near IR ceramic
flash to deliver a series of HDR
still frames to Aurora's facial rec-
ognition engine. Dynamic image
analysis provides for adjustment
of the illumination to optimise
the clarity of a subject's face in the
next frame, repeatable at up to
40fps.
Axis
showed
the integra-
tion of HID
Global's
Mobile Ac-
cess with its Axis A1001 network
door controller and Axis Entry
Manager software. The new Axis
HID Global combined solution,
thought to be the first IP-based,
end-to-end solution, enables mo-
bile devices such as smartphones
to function as credentials. The
solution stores secure identities on
smartphones for opening doors
and locks instead of managing
traditional printed identity cre-
dentials. The integration features
Axis Entry Manager software to
manage all connected Axis A1001
network door controllers as well
as the HID cloud-based portal
to manage users and mobile IDs.
Other third-party software can
also be used for integrating more
advanced access management
functionalities.
Civintec
launched
its new USB NFC
desktop reader,
CN670. It is a
desktop reader for
personal identifica-
tion, logical security
control and cashless payment with
advanced encryption and secure
access module. The NFC USB
desktop reader can fully support
ISO18092 NFC technology such
as a Smartphone can be your ID
credentials for cashless payment,
to work with all brands of smart
phone by ISO 18092 NFC;
equipped with SAM module for
secure data encryption. It is also
designed with high level command
to work with terminals such as
POS terminals, vending machines
etc., and the user controllable bio-
colour LED, buzzer can easily be
visible on payment indication. It is
compatible with proximity Mifare
Classic, Mifare Plus, Desfire with
AES encryption and random ID,
NXP original chip with good
reading distance and fast speed
up to 848kbps making it ideal for
professional card issuance for se-
cure access control authentication.

Vanderbilt
displayed a
wide range of
products, for
example SPC Connect, which al-
lows installers to monitor, manage,
and maintain Vanderbilt's SPC
panels remotely, and ACT365,
an integrated access control and
video management solution, which
offers remote setup, servicing
and support. Both solutions are
cloud-based. ACT365 allows users
to remotely verify a building's
visitor from real-time video images
captured at the point of entry. Ac-
cess can then be granted remotely.
In the event of a forced door or an
alarm activation, ACT365 gives
users immediate recall and easy
location of recorded footage of the
incident, allowing them to review
and respond to the situation ac-
cordingly.
Advancis
showed the
most recent
version of
its vendor-

physical security information
management (PSIM) platform
Winguard X3. It includes numer-
ous innovations in event handling,
camera visualisation, network
functionality and more. It is also
possible to group or completely
hide events, either manually or
depending on pre-defined criteria.
The use of column definitions
enables to freely define content,
display and sorting of the event
list. The event list can be filtered
individually by the user. With the
help of timers, procedures within
the scope of event processing can
be monitored with regard to time
and notifications can be pre-
