Addsecure acquires Chiron
Securitas acquires Australian security services firm
Addsecure
, a Swedish supplier of
secure communication solutions,
has acquired the British pro-
vider of advanced Alarms over IP
systems, Chiron Security Commu-
nications. "With Chiron's access
to more than 200 alarm receiving
centres in more than 45 countries,
this is a good ticket to interna-
tional expansion", says Addsecure's
CEO Stefan Albertsson.
Addsecure consists of the three
former companies Multicom
Security, Safetel and Securinet, and
has some 130 employees. "With
the acquisition of Chiron Security
Communications we will not just
have a broad and unique offer to
our customers in the Nordics but
also realise our plan to establish
ourselves globally", says Stefan Al-
bertsson. He claims that Addsecure
and Chiron together will have two
thirds of the market share in Scan-
dinavia and that Addsecure now
takes a big step towards its goal,
which is to be the leading supplier
of secure communication for alarm
and IoT solutions in Europe.
Chiron has designed and
developed communication systems
for the security industry for over
27 years, has around 25 employees
and a 7 million Euro turnover.
According to Ian Tredinnick,
co-founder of Chiron, 98 per cent
of its business is located outside of
the UK.
He says: "A lot of people have
been looking to buy Chiron,
but I believe Addsecure provides
the right technology, the right
understanding of the business and
the wish to get outside of Scan-
dinavia, which makes a match
between the two."
The companies see a significant
synergy, both through market base
and new technologies. Most im-
portantly, both Chiron's customer
base and Addsecure's customer base
will be able to use Chiron's new
interactive services, which will be
launched soon.
Securitas
has signed an agreement
to acquire the Australian security
services company PSGA. The
enterprise value is estimated at
MSEK 36 (MAUD 5.5).
PSGA has been a partner to
Securitas in Australia for many
years, providing consulting and
investigation services and guard-
ing services to Securitas' global
customers mainly in Sydney and
Melbourne. The company has
120 employees and annual sales of
approximately MSEK 81 (MAUD
12).
"We see opportunities to grow
with our global customers in
Australia, to establish a solid local
business in the country, and at
the same time develop the market
over time into more electronic
security-based solutions", says Alf
Göransson, Securitas' President and
CEO.
