Johnson Controls acquires Smartvue
Konica Minolta commits to spend
3 million Euros with Mobotix
Johnson Controls
has acquired
Smartvue
, a leading IoT and
video provider which empowers
cloud video surveillance and IoT
video services. The addition of
the Smartvue cloud-based video
platform will enhance Johnson
Controls' offering of an end-to-
end, smart cloud based solution
that can provide superior business
data and intelligence to customers
and added value to partners.
Nashville-based Smartvue's
global video surveillance and IoT
video cloud platform is supported
today in 140 countries and serves
customers such as telcos, cable
companies, security firms, storage
providers, device manufactur-
ers, and other organisations. The
platform supports IoT technolo-
gies that enable secure video in
almost any device to connect with
a robust global cloud, accessed
through an intuitive interface.
Smartvue boasts an industry
defining intellectual property
portfolio, including more than
800 granted utility patent claims
from its nearly 20-year history.

Following the recent news of an
agreement that Konica Minolta
will allocate an initial amount of
1.5 million Euros in Mobotix's
technology development, the com-
pany has now confirmed plans to
purchase a minimum of 3 million
Euros worth of Mobotix products
during its fiscal year 2018/19,
starting April 2018.
"Mobotix provides several
unique digital IP video technolo-
gies that are critical in the creation
of innovative solutions for areas
such as smart cities, healthcare and
process optimisation," says Yoshiki
Fukai, General Manager, Konica
Minolta, Inc. "Our purchase of
a significant volume of Mobotix
products will be used to fulfil ma-
jor Konica Minolta projects across
the globe during 2018."
The purchase agreement is part
of an ongoing partnership between
Konica Minolta and Mobotix that
includes deployment of Mobotix
cameras for Konica Minolta global
accounts. Konica Minolta has
also appointed a large inside-sales
teams to focus on promoting
the use of Mobotix technology
through end-customers and chan-
nel partners.

Konica Minolta became a
strategic investor in Mobotix in
2016 with the stated aim of help-
ing Mobotix to improve its leading
camera technology through
innovations such as new high-
resolution imaging sensors and
high-grade lenses.
