Ifsec 2018 attracted more than 27,350 visitors from 113 countries and had more than 500 exhibiting companies. This year’s event will probably see similar results. However, this year will be the last time the event takes place in June – in 2020 the show will be moved to mid-May and will be organised alongside Security & Counter Terror Expo (SCTX), Ambition and Forensics Europe Expo at Excel London. More than half are end users Ifsec International is probably the best opportunity in Europe to see the latest security technology and to meet and network with security directors & managers, installers, integrators and distributors from across the globe. Products and solutions within video surveillance, access control and alarms are expected to dominate the show floor. Cyber security, artificial intelligence and mobile solutions as well as IoT are some of the main trends in the physical security industry today and they will all be displayed at Ifsec. Last year, a majority of the visitors came from the UK (almost 70 per cent), while 20 per cent had travelled from other parts of Europe and 6.5 per cent from Asia and 1 per cent from North America. According to the organiser, 56.5 per cent of the visitors were end users, 19.2 per cent manufacturers/distributors, 14.8 per cent installers and 8.9 per cent integrators. One third of the visitors had an annual purchasing budget of over 1 million pounds. New conference concept The Ifsec International security seminar and conference programme was dramatically overhauled in 2018, with the new Keynote Arena playing host to an inspiring series of presentations placed at the heart of the event. In addition, the new Show Me How feature gave visitors a deeper and more comprehensive look at what the latest security technology takes to install, use and maintain. In the Keynote Arena this year, renowned speakers will discuss and debate some of the most topical and critical issues facing the secufeatures insights about future security solutions. Here, experts and industry leaders will share a vision of the industry’s future in a series of sessions and presentations, and will answer burning questions about critical topics, technologies and issues. Another arena is the LPCB Attack Testing Zone where security experts will conduct live attack tests on a wide range of perimeter and façade security products, as well as safes, security enclosures and padlocks.
