Secon in Korea continues to grow
Secon is the biggest security exhibition in South Korea and this year, some 47,402 visitors came to Kintex Seoul for the three-day shown in March. Security solutions for parking, mobile applications and AI were some of the highlights at the show.
A total of 450 exhibitors from 17 countries displayed their products and solutions on the 22,000 square metres show floor. Secon had 47,402 visitors, of which more than 45,000 were domestic and over 2,000 had travelled from overseas. Both the number of exhibitors and visitors grew by approximately 3 per cent compared to the previous Secon show in 2018. Many big players present Big South Korean security companies like Samsung S1, Hanwha Techwin and ADT Caps had big stands at the show, but Cudo Communication, Suprema, Techsphere, Amano Korea, Wonwoo, Innodep, Mpolesystem, Fsnetworks, Indusvision, Iris ID, Soltech Infonet, Incon, Union Community, Vision I&C, Saenoon, Catis, Jinmyoung I&C, Truen and many more were also there. The leading Chinese brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview and Zkteco were exhibiting as well as other global leaders like Milestone, Ytot, Visionlabs, Xafer SRL, LG, and Hitachi. Video surveillance, video analytics, AI, mobile solutions, and solutions for parking were popular themes at the show. Satisfied exhibitors Based on an on-site survey and interviews, more than 65 per cent of the exhibitors were satisfied with the show and would consider participating again in 2020. “The Secon show offers a great opportunity for us to showcase our latest products and systems at the beginning of each year. We will definitively attend the Secon show again”, said Jung-a Huang, Director of Amano Korea, which has become the biggest brand for parking control solutions in South Korea. Parking control system Amano was showing its parking control system, which is a smart parking total solution including parking system manufacturing, parking lot operation, system business in Korea.” Suprema was showing its new Facelite, a compact face recognition terminal for access control and time attendance. Mohammed Murad, VP of Global Sales & Marketing, Iris ID, said: “Iris ID has attended the Secon exhibition since it was founded, and we will be at the show in the following years”.
