business news Antitrust authority sanctions Bosch Sony partnership Grasbrunn, Germany After the official approval of the antitrust authorities, the business partnership between Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corporation in the field of video security solutions became effective from February 1, 2017 – except for in China where the partnership started on April 1, 2017. Both companies will now focus on strengthening the collaboration that was first announced in November 2016. The partnership entails both a sales and marketing cooperation as well as a technical collaboration. As part of the sales and marketing partnership, Sony’s video security sales and marketing associates has joined a newly formed dedicated team within the Bosch Security System organisation. Sony`s video security customers, in all markets except Japan, will be served and supported by this sales and marketing team. “We are happy to welcome these experienced colleagues into our organisation and we are convinced we will further grow the business with Sony’s products by providing excellent support and service to our customers”, says Michael Hirsch, Vice President for Sales and Marketing of the Sony Security Business within Bosch. “We are delighted that Sony’s video security customers are now being supported by Bosch Security Systems. The delivery order is under a five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the U.S. Department of Defense, in support of the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) DR-SKO Program of Record. The order is valued at $54.2 million, with deliveries extending through the second quarter of 2018. The CBRN DR-SKO system is a set of mission specific kits that characterise and provide full spectrum CBRN dismounted reconnaissance capability utilised by the U.S. Military Joint Services, including units within the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and National Guard Weapons of Mass Destruction-Civil Support Teams.
