More than 33,000 came to Intersec in Dubai With more than 1,300 exhibitors and some 33,501 visitors from 129 countries, Intersec in dubai (22–24 January) was a 2017 great kick-off for for the global security industry. The event took place over 56,000 square metres in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre – a huge area – and most of the large companies in the physical security were represented. According to organiser Messe Frankfurt Middle East GmbH, almost half of the visitors came from the United Arab Emirates. Saudi Arabia was second with more than 3,000 visitors, followed by Iran and India with close to 1,800 and more than 1,000 visitors. Other countries with large representation were Pakistan, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, United Kingdom and Oman. Detektor and AR Media were represented by Carlos Cisternas, on the company’s own booth at the fair. ”It has been a good show and people from all over the world have been here. We have many followers in the Persian Gulf area and it is important for us to be present here”, says Carlos Cisternas. Regarding exhibitors, China dominated with 241 exhibitors, followed by the United Arab Emirates (210), United Kingdom (150), USA (85), Germany (84), Taiwan (55) and Italy (51). Access Control provider Assa Abloy had many visitors to their stand. Nedap, the Dutch access control provider, was represented on their stand by Jan Hofman and Lars Lenselink. Intrusion Alarm provider Optex was present with Gaurav Mahajan, Division Manager and Aude Desbrerie, Marketing Director for Optex Europe. Paxton was present with fr left Nick Lawden Int. Sales & Accounts, Dan Drayton Sales Manager. Salto Systems was present during the event: Carlos Elosequi, Marketing Manager, Roger Birch, Regional Technical Lead, Ali Ahsan, Regional Sales.
