BEST PRODUCT:
Skygd panic alarm solution,
Skygd (Sweden)
Skygd is a complete solution for sending alarms to alarm receiving centres with detailed information thanks to positioning (by GPS or triangulation), picture-fetching, audio and video-recording, by using a cell-phone. An alarm is triggered simply by holding the middle-button for two seconds, when this is done the position together with other relevant data is sent to an alarm receiving centre to act upon. When the Skygd software is installed in the phone, it continuously records audio so that when an alarm is sent, the previous minute of audio recording is attached with it. Furthermore, the probability of having a well-charged mobile phone tends to be larger than a seldom-used device such as a dedicated alarm transmitting unit.
DIA-jury:
"Advanced panic alarm devices are commonly use a dedicated transmitter/sender while the advanced Skygd software uses a standard cell-phone as the alarm unit. This approach not only significantly increases the market potential of Skygd, but also the likelihood that the user is carrying a device that is well-charged and available to hand when a situation of threat occurs. Smart and smooth – a brilliant concept!"
Highly Commended Product:
RLS3060 laser scan detector,
Optex (Japan)
RLS3060 is a laser scan detector that can detect a moving object’s size, speed and distance from the detector and process this information through a special algorithm. This results in a highly reliable detection of people and minimises false alarms. The detector can be mounted both horizontally and vertically depending on the site’s conditions. When vertically mounted, the detector works as a virtual wall. It has four outputs for remote video applications and can in this mode work as an assistant to PTZ cameras. When horizontally mounted, the detector creates a detection area with a radius of 30 metres and an arc of 190 degrees. The detection area can be set manually or automatically.
DIA-jury:
"The RLS-3060 laser scan detector’s ability to detect the size, speed and distance of a moving object and process this information through a special algorithm, results in a highly reliable security solution that also minimises false alarms. The versatility and sophisticated detection technology makes the RLS3060 a great tool for a wide range of applications and provides an excellent example of today’s advanced security technology solutions."
Innovative Achievement:
350-X radar sensor,
Navtech Radar (UK)
The 350-X is a radar sensor designed for perimeter security protection. It is able to detect a man walking at radius of up to 350 metres and vehicles at a radius of up to 800 metres. The W350-X has been specifically designed to allow the unit to be mounted up to 4 meters off the ground. The W350-X can also be integrated with PTZ-cameras.
DIA-jury:
"Early detection of intruders is the most important key to an effective high-security environment. The AdvanceGuard 350-X radar sensor clearly meets this demand in perimeter security applications with a convincing accuracy."
Innovative Achievement:
DD669AM dual detector,
GE Security (USA)
The DD669 AM detector offers 360° protection with 18 curtains of 10 m radius and with mounting heights up to 5.0 m. Its unique range controlled radar avoids false alarms related to movement outside the detection pattern. Fully programmable with electronic selection of either 180° or 360° coverage patterns, bicurtain processing and memory control. It has an anti-masking capability up to a distance of 40cm from the detector.
DIA-jury:
"With 360 degree detection, an advanced Anti Masking technology concept and an impressive installation flexibility, GE Security has set a new standard with the DD669 AM. Furthermore the concept of this detector is strengthened by the range controlled radar that ensures that objects outside the detection pattern do not produce false alarms. A remarkable product for several indoor security applications."
